Nearly finished
I finally finished my Master's Thesis on "Home Automation - A Challenge for Electrical Designers, Contractors and Electricians. I got the books from the
bookbindery yesterday and they look great

I still have one special assignment to write, had to keep a bit of summer vacation after the thesis... I travelled to north with Juuli to visit relatives at Oulu and Kittilä.
I also stayed two nights at the summer cottage at Simojärvi. My cousing Telle had a combined wedding/christening of her 3rd child, Lenni. It was a wonderful small ceremony.
All in all it was a great trip and we had warm weather, especially at the cottage (usually I freeze there).
For the first time there weren't much mosquitos at the cottage so I sat at the riverside most of the time and even managed to get a fish (perch) with only two minutes in the fishing
rod handle! Too bad I only got that one so I let it go.
The mosquitos were all waiting at Kittilä though, yikes! So I opted to play piano and read. I really hate mosquitos...
I've managed to do a new layout for the website and I decided to make it look more like Juuli's page that I really like.
It took me forever to do anything on these pages as I have rather been working with my database page.
Last year Juuli participated in two lure coursing events and this summer we were supposed to go for a couple races too, but of course Juuli got bitten by
a dog at the dogpark week before her first start and got two weeks of antibiotics so she cannot enter to any races for a month after the last pill due doping regulations...
And of course I forgot to enter her to the coursing event at Mustiala, which was due last Tuesday, and I remembered it a day too late... So it looks like we'll be going only
to the HVK lure coursing in September and got nowhere during the summer
Juuli has been doing really well (for her) in training and I'm contemplating on trying to get her a track racing licence, she's now ran twice with two other dogs at track and
at least as finished the race despite the other dogs. Previously she only ran with one familiar dog, but the lure coursing competitions and training have been better for her
so she's bit more confident. Not that she actually *competes* with the other dogs at track, but she runs... She needs two approved group test runs, 280m and 480m, to get the
track racing licence. Would be nice to get it although she's already veteran-aged
. Better late than never, right?

Tallinn Dog Shows
I entered Juuli to the Estonian Winner 2007 and Sighthound Specialty Shows in Tallinn last weekend.
Shows went really well but the hotel we stayed the night between shows nearly burned down as some pyromaniac decided it was a nice idea to ignite not one but *two* houses nearby the hotel into flames, the closest right behind the hotel in the woods! Yikes!!
Luckily the fire department got them under control, with some-4 fire-fighting vechiles, 4 police cars and an ambulance... Some excitement was also created because our transportation never really came when it was agreed on, we went on a group trip so that we had a bus to travel around with. Otherwise the weather was great (I got sunburns everywhere...) and I was very happy with our results.
Juuli was BOS and got a CC from the Sighthound Specialty show, meaning that she was the best (and only..) saluki bitch and second best saluki with dog Aziz Yavand, aka Nemo, getting the BOB and he went to become Best In Show as well! This means if Juuli becomes a Finnish Champion in shows in future, she will simultaneously become also Estonian Champion, Yay!
Juuli was 3rd best saluki bitch in the Estonian Winner 2007 show and got Res-CACIB with a rosette to go. Nemo went to become BOB there as well and placed 4th in the Group 10 competition. Sadly with our bus leaving I missed the Best In Show ring as I had to go as not to get left behind by the bus...
Interesting was that the both judges in the shows were American and Juuli got excellent reviews from both of them, so maybe I should enter her to shows where there's US judges from now on...
Here we are with the Specialty Show judge Eugene Blake

Shakira...Shakira...
...Never really knew that you could dance like that...
...You make a man wanna speak Spanish...
...Cómo se llama, bonita, mi casa, su casa...
Okay, it's been about a week since I went to Shakira concert at Hartwall arena Helsinki, and this song just stuck in my head... It's Shakira's Hips Don't Lie, and it wasn't even the best song of the concert! The whole show was really great, even that she sang mostly Spanish songs, but it didn't matter. I have her first English album "Laundry Service" and have listened it alot over the week. My favorite songs from the concert were Spanish ones, Ojos Así, Illegal and Estoy Aquí plus the English one Underneath Your Clothes. Well, actually I liked all of them, there were only a couple I didn't recognize of the whole show.
It'd be great to learn the language, just that I haven't had any time at the University for language courses, I even haven't studied French for six years...and that's a shame since I studied it as first foreign language for about 10 years in school before University.
Another plus lately: I also got a summer job so I don't have to worry about that anymore, yay!
I got to try Hanna's newest horse, Get Crazy, for the first time last month as he had recovered from leg injury and whole three weeks of stable rest.. In this case nomen est _not_ omen, he was really nice to work with considering he's only six this year and I appreciated that he had settled to walk properly on four feet again, and not like what Hanna told me that he had reared on his hind feet all the way from the stable to the arena less than a week ago... Yikes!

Nello-weekend!
Long time no write... Last weekend I got to ride Nello both days as Hanna was on vacation. He's moved to a new stable to Helsinki which is great as I'll be able to work with him more often in future. It was interesting to see how he reacts in a new place so I took my friend Aura with me to take pictures.
The place is awesome and everything went well, Nello was super-cool to ride, did everything I asked. I even found the brakes so even though he had speed it was all under wraps.

I updated his page with more pictures.
Juuli has been in two shows lately, last time she was 3rd best Saluki female in the show, but there was only 4 females there... I even got to show Juuli's "uncle", a litter-brother to Tazillah Qahir Sanam, in best Saluki Male and he also got 3rd, but there was a total of 7 dogs entered. Tazillah also was 4th Best Breeder In Show and there was at least 10 breeder groups so that was neat, I got to present Tenho (Tazillah Qaus Quzaha) there also.
Summer work done and school starts next week. I even took another job in the Lighting Laboratory, which is very interesting and I'm doing my best to get my part done this week. I wish I had more fun courses this autumn but somehow all the "don't-want-to-go-there" courses have piled up to this semester... Already had my Physics 3-test last week, let's hope I passed!
Horse Show is coming in October and I even bought tickets to go to Bryan Adams -concert in the end of this month so fun is ahead

Something is going on this spring...
Well, because Juuli was sick today, and ended up to vet to get her hydrated after throwing up while I was at school. Sigh, have no idea where that came up since she's perfectly fine now and I'm only 130e lighter in the wallet... Now she's looking at me, pleading "gimme food" with her eyes, but no more food for sick puppies until tomorrow. I have no idea how I'm going to get her lay back for two days worth of rest since she looks ready to go running.
School is taking quite a lot of time since I've taken some four courses with projects plus working part-time and I have less free time than I'd like
Luckily I have several really fun courses with PHP/SQL, XML and lighting technology. (what, did I say *fun* courses?)
I should be able to go riding this friday with Bee for second time this year! Plus Hanna's got new horses, neatest of those is her new show jumping horse Maranello IV with whom I got to try my first fence in...2 years... And the previous owners said he's so difficult he will go nuts over a pole on the ground and is impossible to handle (I can always count on Hanna to first tell me all those things and then sat me up in the saddle with "he won't do anything"). But he seemed cool enough for me
Check Nello out at Rafan Ratsutila !

Update
Forgot to mention that Juuli's website layout has been completely redone in December! I also added new results from Jan 21 show there, with pictures. Take a look!
Saturday I get to see Bee again! I've only ridden him once in past year or more. Let's just hope it'll not be -20 degrees like last week...
Gotta go to school now, bye!

Another sad note
Atlantis was put to sleep last weekend.
He had gotten laminitis while Hanna was away and somehow the stable owner thought it was just a minor bruise and didn't call the vet until it was too late...
This pic is of Atlantis and me from last winter.

Something I knew that would eventually happen, but what I couldn't think of... my Jasu was put to sleep yesterday...
It's so unfair and yet I know it had to be done as she got just too old. 15 is quite well for a dog and she had a good life. It still was one of the hardest things to do, to let go. To watch the vet give her the sedative so that she would fall to sleep before giving the final dose of anestheatic. But she was already half-gone, not really responding when I got to the vet a bit later than my dad and her. Nothing like last Saturday when she had so lovingly greeted me when I visited them. Life really sucks sometimes. But then I know she can rest in peace now... thank goodness I have Juuli to cheer me up, although she was bit ill today and I got a nice "gotta-take-her-too-to-vet-within-24-hours"-panic but it seems she's doing better already. Sigh...
The week hasn't really started so well, as I was supposed to go riding Atlantis first time since last June, but he had hurt his leg a bit and was lame. That and terrible weather (near snowstorm) and Jasu's passing I decided it wasn't wise to drive alone for the 30 minutes to get to stables.. But I've been riding more lately, now that Hanna has her own stable and several horses to choose from. I especially like her two arabians, Saphir and Zarah.
For a happier news I'm about to go to dog show this Saturday, if Juuli doesn't get ill that is. Last time we were at show in June at Saluki Specialty & Saluki Shows. She was 4th in Open Bitches class in Specialty which I think is pretty well.
Gotta go out with Juuli now, just had to write. I updated Jasu's page too, miss her already...

New Year New Layout!
Or something like that... I've finally updated my website layout, but still have quite a lot to fix, all "past" horse pages & Jasu's page are the same old layout and Picture Gallery isn't up yet but I really like this pink-purple color theme. I was aiming for pink but got purplish color instead... I also want to add a neat JavaScript effect on the front page, we'll see how it looks when it's ready.
Today was the annual Gaudeamus Grand Prix riding competition that TERA organized this year. I got to work as secretary in both dressage & show jumping which was fun as I hadn't done that ever before! Although I had to sit beside at the dressage arena for two hours writing judge's comments on a paper as fast as I could during the hottest day of the spring, it was great to learn how the judge scored the riders. All went smoothly and TERA was 3rd in the final results, a total of 9 teams were competing which is a record! This year we only had four member teams unlike previous years when we had 6 riders per team. This year TERA did not excel in dressage (8th and 12th placements for Anna & Sanna) but in show jumping our team cleared the table, taking 1st and 3rd (Markus & Pinja consecutively)!! Go TERA Go!!
I didn't participe this year but I was riding at local riding school this Thursday and had a blast. For once everything went smoothly and I was so happy with the pony, Daisy, I got to ride!
Juuli has grown alot and we are heading to the Saluki Specialty Show and Saluki (unofficial) Show on June 4-5th, so thumbs up! Last year we were 2nd in unofficial show in Junior Class, but did not place in Specialty show... Juuli's mom became INT CH just recently! Juuli's brother got CC from his 3rd show and Juuli's sister got res-CC from show last summer, not to mention another sister who got JW-04 from Estonia! Juuli is just tad narrow from front but I hope that is better now that she's grown. But we'll see!

Back in business!
Okay, it's 0:00 and what am I doing at the comp?
I thought to write after long time while watching LOTR-FOTR at TV with one eye (I apologize any spelling errors)
I officially got back online almost a week ago but have been on-and-off due problems with SP2 (I *love* Microsoft) cause it completely blocked me from the Net...
Bambu has been re-sold to the Sanbacken Riding School after injuring his leg which made the previous buyer shamelessly run with her money... So I've had the pleasure of riding him a couple times and, well, so far I have staid aboard but every time I wish I could be somewhere else. Like when I try to walk him to the arena and he does these lovely jump-around-to-face-the-poor-girl-in-the-lead-line and if-I-jump-up-and-forward-will-she-let-me-run-off? kinda makes it difficult to work with. But Atlantis on the other hand has been very nice to work with, although I just heard from Hanna that he's thrown her down twice this week and continuing that sentence she asks if I want to go and ride the two for her... eh? NO! Well... I'm not suicidical so... Maybe I get Aura to go with me
No, seriously she's been with me twice and won't even consider riding Bee... That's bad...
Juuli has been sick lately. First she had her front leg hurt in the dog park that required three weeks rest and is now fine. Then I found out that she had back problems that require chiropractic (sp?) visit twice and then now she seems to have eye inflammation although I *hope* it's from the new food I've been feeding so I'll try first to see if it helps to drop those off her menu. But As Aura's dog had eye inflammation just recently I bet Juuli caught it at the dog park where they played... sigh...
Anyways I really need to go get some shut eye cause tomorrow I have a test to go. Buh-bye!

Bambu is for sale!
Yep, that's right. And the first possible new owner is coming to try him today!! Life really sucks sometimes... But he's not mine so there's little I can do because I don't have the money to buy him. I wish I had because he's like my friend.
I'll be moving to a new apartment this week so after that I might not get online so often as so far the new place doesn't have an Internet connection but I might be able to get a modem.
But now I really must start reading to my Industrial Management test...

Happy Birthday Juuli!!
Today Juuli turned one year old! Time has really flied. We went to a pet store to buy goodies and she got to pick them herself... I will take her to the running practise later, she really loves to run at the track! I hope to get a camera with me so I can take some photos too.
I got a chance to go with a friend to Tallinn, Estonia so we went there yesterday. It was fun to walk around the old city, although mostly there were souvenir shop after souvenir shop selling exactly the same stuff... But mighty buildings and tons of tourists too (including us). We ate well and shopped and ate and (you get the picture). I didn't even buy anything and still managed to spend lots of money. I have a tendency to do that... We picked up my friends little sister on our way back and headed home the same evening. We also took tons of photos so I'll just have to see how they turn out to be

Way to go!
Today I just _had_ to write. I entered my first (dressage) riding competition with Bambu! It was actually the most difficult course I have ridden in competitions before, but it was still on the easy level, so no biggie. But boy was I nervous... hehe I got a comment after I got out of the arena that my knees kept lifting up as I was so tense
But we managed to get the blue ribbon anyway so at least it didn't show to the judge so much... Something to better if I try again.
Too bad I didn't get any photos from the course as my friend had to leave before my start. Oh well, just when I might actually look passable and ride well for once, there'll be no photos to prove it! Damn.
I only got one from the warm-up:

BTW, Juuli has gotten her first ribbon too, as she got 2nd at Junior Female class at the unofficial Saluki Show! And she got a trophy from the get-of-a-dog class, showing with her sister Diva and brother Tassu for her daddy Salomo. His get group was also 2nd in that class. Many seconds lately...
In May the Gaudeamus Grand Prix was held at Takkula Riding school and our team won!! Here's pic of us after the price giving ceremony... We even ended into Hippos magazine article! Although I didn't score well in dressage but Janne was 2nd in show jumping class and Sanna 3rd in dressage! Yay!!

One week before the big show
...and I'm getting out of my mind...
No, it's not even a big deal, just a International Dog Show at Tampere where Juuli will make her debut as a show dog (in puppy class). But I'm terrified a bit as I've never shown dogs in shows, only in four match shows. And Juuli refused to run every time there... But we are training for it, she stands okay, except does always move her back legs after I've put them to correct places. I mean it would be so much easier if I could just show her freely, without having to make her pose... Now I know the right tactic how to held the lead and it has helped the running problem at least when we've trained outside. I'm not sure how it'll work inside the arena thou, but we'll see.
Today I get to go riding Bee again! Now I've been riding for 1-2 times per week and it's great! Hanna is looking for a new horse, in Russia! I hope she'll find someone just like Bee, except with jumping talents (Bee can jump, he just goes hyperdrive so there's THE speed you can't really control...) But more laterz! Bye!!

Happy New Year 2004 !!!
Long time no see, eh?
Í moved to a new home beginning of December, visited relatives in Lapland in November and in Central-Finland in December...
Even my domain was down for a week or so!
I was riding Bee yesterday and Saturday and he was simply awesome, doing everything I asked him to.
I'll add some pics later
What else? School starts again and I could spend some extra weeks on holiday... I've started to clicker train Juuli and she is getting it well. I even went to a Match Show to see how Juuli would react. It went well, although we didn't place in the competition. There were about 45 puppies and total of about 90 dogs.
Yesterday I was also on a clicker training lecture and they used Juuli as demonstration dog to show how to start the training! During the drive there with my friend and his labrador puppy Boris, we found out that Boris had eaten 30-40cm of Juuli's leather lead rope!! Ouch, gladly Boris was okay...

The First Snow!
Today it started to snow in the morning.
I took Juuli out to see how she'd react. At first, she wondered why it was all white-and-cold-and-wet but after a few minutes she was all up for some running and playing, as you can see

Yahoo!! I love to run!!

It's fun to play.

Die!!

If I back enough, will it stop chasing me?
Hmm, what's over there??

Is it a retriever? No, but don't tell her!!

Banzai!! With a big smile

She's here!
...and has been for 5 days but haven't had time to write
I bet you want to see some pics? This was taken by my dad the very first moment I saw her when we picked her up...

She's the cutest thing I've ever seen...
Juuli sleeps a lot and then likes to run and "kill" her favorite toy when she's awake. Finally after two days she started to eat better and is much more eager to play - and bite everything...
I really must start reading to my tests, but I'll be back soon!

Phew, finally Friday
What a week!
It's been hectic to say the least. I've had tons of work reorganizing my room (and other rooms too
) and now it's almost done. I had work yesterday but I enjoyed it, amazingly as I was really tired at school that day.
We had a stunt show at school last wednesday and that was a huge success! Vladimir Georgiev, a Bulgarian stunt rider and circus artist, came with his two horses and showed amazing stunts. Unfortunately I didn't get any pics of the show but I managed to get many photos of the after-show where they allowed spectators try the horses!
Now I gotta run so I won't miss my bus. Bye for now!

A good hair day
So today I went to hairdresser and lost about two thirds of my hair
So from now on I'm part of the short-haired blonde clan instead of long-and-curly (thanks to perm)... And I like it!
Well, nothing else has been happening, although I've been re-organizing my room in my mind (that is, remove half of the furniture to fit Juuli here when she comes). I should do lots of cleaning and arranging my (huge piles of) papers and stuff so everything would be ready, but I'm just so lazy I just stay at the comp instead. I still have almost two weeks left (10 days to be exact) until my puppy will arrive.. I know I know, I'm repeating myself but I can't help it...
Tomorrow I shall go shopping dog stuff, I need at least nail clippers and a comb as well as two bowls. And a pair of jeans and shoes for myself.
10 days to go...

At school
I had nothing to do so I decided to come and update for a change!
I'm really not a good blog keeper as I always remember to write days after something happen...
But I'm trying, really
Right now I'm at school after Physics lesson and have about 30 min before my next lesson starts. I should be doing my English assignment, but this is much more fun...
So what's been up lately?
Sunday we went to see a Dog Show in Porvoo as I wanted to see some salukis there. And what a coincidence, I saw the father of my puppy there! And her aunt too, a female from the same litter as Kirman Obadiah, Juuli's mummy...
Here's two pics of the stunning dad, Tazillah Qahir Sanam aka Salomo:

Ain't he gorgeous?!

And yes, I've finally came up with the name for my soon-to-be-here puppy. She'll be called Juuli from now on. Or at least until she can voice her opinion in case she doesn't like it
I will go and pick her from Tampere on the 28th, only one-and-a-half weeks to wait!!
I may have found an apartment! If everything goes well, I'll be moving to a new home in November. But nothing's sure yet so I'll update when I know more. The place was great, 4th floor in a nice flat, a small 2 rooms and a bathroom. There was even a big dog park near where I could let Juuli run free. The only problem is the high price...
Bye for now!

A Perfect Dog
...and I found one
...and I bought her
...now I only have to wait until September 28th to get her home!
AND IT'S ONLY IN THREE+ WEEKS!!!
I'm going to have a baby saluki!! Yeppee!
What can I say? I'm so excited!!
Her name is Desierto Belleza Afelpada, but I've yet to figure a nick name for her. Tougher than I thought, I'm completely out of good names for this perfect little creature.
Well, I'm sure you want to see her, so here's a pic of her, age 2 weeks:

Isn't she cute!!
School will start again next week. After doing so much work during the summer it's kinda fun to go back and study for a change. Although I barely got three weeks of vacation...
A sadder thing is that the riding school will be selling Tino, the horse I groom every week! He has an asthma that was diagnosed last spring. I hope they'll find a nice home for him, otherwise he most likely will end to greener pastures like his stable mate, who was put down just couple days ago due old age (back & leg problems)

Fixations...
I haven't had time to write, so I'm a bit behind on what's been going on lately.
1) My job is fine, although I get difficult questions from clients each day, but I'm learning
2) I've been really looking for a dog for myself, I even went to meet a Saluki breeder Micaela Lehtonen to see the dogs in real life after spending a lot of my time on comp... Yeah, my major fixation is that I want a Saluki. Yup, I really liked the dogs I saw and had a wonderful time! I'll scan some pics tomorrow.
Mom isn't really impressed about this fixation. She's kinda spooked about the idea of someone messing around the house... But I'll convince her somehow.
3) I sold my piano. It will leave tomorrow to it's new home. I'm kinda sad but then again I got a bit money to spend (hopefully to a dog).
4) I want to continue riding at the local riding school, but they just raised the lesson fees, again. 28 euros per hour is *so* too much to pay for one hour of riding in a group of 10 and only one teacher
... I mean you won't even learn so much when teacher doesn't really have time to tell you when you do right or wrong! But I almost could pay the fee if I could ride my favorite horse each time
All in all, I've taken over 40 photos in three days, about 20 at the Salukis and 21 of Jasu, so here's some samples of how she was yesterday...
She really enjoys being out at the back yard...

I got a new job!!
Hee, I'm so happy for my new job, it starts next Monday and will be 20 hours/week. It is a summer job at local market so lasts only until the end of August but still.
I took new pics of Jasu today but they're still in the camera and I didn't have a CD to burn them to take them with me and dad wouldn't borrow his digital camera... She was so difficult to photograph as she shut her eyes as soon as she realized what I was doing. So I got at least ten pics with eyes shut tight with annoyed look and a few with eyes open but tail down and sad expression and maybe one that might be good enough to use... I even got better pics of Surina-the-Burmese-cat who is usually the harder one to photograph of the two...
We're going to grandma's with my mom today and that means that I can go riding! This summer has been too horseless for me, I've only been riding twice so far, and without my friend who lets me ride Bee for free, I wouldn't be able to ride at all! As I had my back/leg problems I haven't participated any riding lessons but in August I'll be taking four lessons in dressage, yay!!
And if possible, I'll try to go riding to Suit-Sila while we're at my granma's and hopefully get to ride Rassu again. Last time I was there last April.

Back to back!
Hee, finally after two weeks I went to riding Bee again yesterday. What a wonderful feeling!
Bee went so well and I felt better that for a long time. I think I rode better than last time but no photos so can't tell for sure, lol...
Now I'm trying to find a job, after my month's summer job at Espoo City Park management is done. Too bad they could only hire for a month this year, I enjoyed the outdoors job when it was nice weather. And it rained most of the June anyways, only now after my job ended there's really warm and sunny...
Can't complain though as I have VACATION!!! Yeppee!!!
I'm already half-way through my Harry Potter 5. I haven't been able to read so much, having been working the days. And now a friend of mine said that someone of the main characters will die in the book!! NO!!!! Unfair. Luckily no-one has hinted or I would've smacked the one squarely in the head... And the book is heavy, believe me.
Today I'm going to movies with a friend, we're going to see Charlie's Angels 2

It's THE day!!!
What? You might ask. The New-Harry-Potter-5-is-released day, of course! Am I excited? Nooooooo
I already pre-ordered mine from Amazon.co.uk...
Can't wait to get the book. But I'm not the only one. Two of my friends have also ordered it from Amazon so that's how desperate we are
.
Anyhoo, it was Midsummers day yesterday and I was spending the day with a friend, had fun and even the weather got better during the day. From raining-so-much-I-don't-want-to-stick-my-toe-out to wonderful warm sunny evening and night.
The bad news is that my back started problemos again, and I went to doctor who ordered whole three days off work. In case that might help. Well, next Thursday I'll better be sound enough to work properly as I only have 7 days anyways before my summer job ends... Then summer holidays can really start!
I even got a new cell phone! I bought it on wednesday and it's neat, a Nokia 3510i with Java and all. I'm pretty sure my phone bills skyrocketed as I tried to use GPRS the first time... Oh well, at least I got the logo and sounds I wanted after a coupla tries

Ta-da!
I'm back
Yesterday I had promised to take care of Bee, so I went with my friend to Nuuksio where he's stabled for the summer.
We put him to pasture and gave him his first of three daily meals of hay and oats.
Then we cleaned the barn and then continued with grooming the horse and saddling him up to go for a ride.
Here's a few pics of me riding Bee yesterday.
Walking...

Yup, I can do walk ok, don't you think

If only I remembered to look UP!!

Nope, the horse would't drop his head even if I didn't look at it all the time...
Trotting...

Ok, I could lean back alot more... Bee is doing really well nevertheless.

This is much better
Cantering...

He's *so* neat!
After the ride he was put back to pasture to eat his second meal of the day while we went to eat ours to nearest McDonalds (nearest was about 15km from the stables...). And finally we went to feed him and put him back to his stall for the night.
We had a blast!

Today I went to stables alone, I did the morning routine and then went to walk with Bee in lead line.
Then I put him back to pasture and gave him his food.

Back me up
This week has been bit hectic... I took a riding lesson with two of my friends at Tuesday as we needed to practise show jumping for today's riding competition, Gaudeamus Grand Prix (Yearly competition for Academic Riding Clubs). So we had a great lesson and I had a blast, everything went really well and I was looking forward to the competitions. But as I went to stables Wednesday, I managed to hurt my back so bad I hardly could get home before I needed to lay down completely. I didn't even ride or anything... Luckily we got another girl to replace me in Tera's team (me, Aura and Anna R) as we needed a 3-6 riders to be able to participate.
I also found out that Tino, the horse I groom at local riding school, has ASTHMA (I mean can horses have asthma??), he's been coughing pretty bad lately and has been now off working as lesson horse. I really hope he'll get better with the meds he's getting.
Well, my back was so bad I had to go to doctor at Thursday and my mom took me there, about 20 mins sitting in the car cursing in my mind as it hurt so much. Anyways I got pain killers and strict order to rest at leas a couple days and no riding for a week or so! ARGH!!! Never mind I had agreed to go riding every day Friday-Sunday and had to cancel everything
Well, maybe next year I get to go to the competitions, I had to cancel it last year as well, but third time lucky, I hope.
The good news of the week is that I passed the Data Structures and Algorithms test!! Yeppee!!
I also got a new model horse. My friend from Denmark, Ulrika, had made this big order with a couple Swedish collectors so the model travelled from US to Denmark and now here finally, after half year's wait (the US company was annoyingly slow to deal with). It was supposed to be my Christmas present to myself but now I guess it's summer-vacation-has-started-gift.. lol
As it's Saturday, I'm able to walk and sit a bit. Slight progress but still... Now I'm only waiting for it to get better so I can go riding Bee again.

New day new GUESTBOOK!!
Today I got my guestbook up and running. That is my first MySQL database and I'm thrilled to get it to work!
I've been reading for my Electronics test but aren't nearly done with it yet... I'm so glad it's summer soon and I have only two more tests to go, so then I can start to work with this site and put something here that someone might actually be interested to read...
I made this Geek test and yup, I'm a Geek. According to the test, that is... Well, I do tend to stay online/on comp 24/7 or at least 16/7 as my comp isn't open while I sleep... At least not always
Okay, now I must go and get some shut eye before I start to read at morning and have the Electronics test tomorrow!

Finally!!
Now I finally got my blog to work. It took only three tries with different FTPs to get the CHMODs right and a few instructions from my friend to get it to function.
Anyhow, it's my test week at University and I should be reading for Physics IV test that is tomorrow... But as I already had two tests yesterday (Data Structures & Algorithms and Applied Propability), I can't find my motivation... Anyone saw it?
Hey, it's May 8th and 8 days from May 1st, also called WAPPU and the biggest party day of the year, at least for students. So we went with friends to Wappu party at Dipoli (diner/party place at HUT campus) and had a blast! Before that we hung around Helsinki and watched people celebrate at streets and we even bought balloons. This year mine was a Pooh & Piglet hugging, but alas, it turned out quite violent, attacking both my friends to their faces and even number of innocent bystanders... And it wasn't the wind, I swear! My friend's Eeyore balloon was not doing anything similar. Well, too bad Wappu is over, could celebrate some more instead studying... Only three tests to go...
